One of the most important things my husband Chad has taught me is that, in order to be happy and successful in any given field, a person must never get tired of learning.
Not to brag or anything, but I’d like to think, given what he’s accomplished in his field, he knows a thing or two about being happy and successful.
As I’m in wine education, I think that these words of wisdom particularly resonate with people in my line of work. It is my personal opinion that teacher becomes stagnant the moment he starts thinking that he knows everything there is to know about his field of expertise. Teaching (and the amount of mental, physical, and emotional work that goes into it) becomes arduous the moment a teacher stops learning.
Having said that, one of the best learning opportunities for me (and was instrumental with my work up until today) was WSET3.
“How much was the pin?”
The “pin” is a symbolic representation of having finished WSET3. To be perfectly candid about it, it was about PHP88,000.00, 4 days of being under the tutelage of an amazing British professor (who realised digestive biscuits are a novelty to Southeast Asians), over 60 hours of studying, and passing a challenging tasting and written exam.
Was it worth it?
I’ve written about it (and how important it was for me) in a previous article, but what I’m here to do is to announce that…
WSET3 IS AVAILABLE IN ENDERUN!
We’re (clearly) excited about this. Jorge Orte Tudela (DipWSET, WSET Certified Wine Educator) is going to conduct the classes from 19-23 March 2018 in Enderun Colleges (1100 Campus Avenue, McKinley Hill, Fort Bonifacio Taguig). He will also conduct a Sherry Master Class and Cava Master Class on 24 March 2018 (which I’m keen to attend).
For those who are only starting on wine education and feel like they would like to start at the very beginning, there are regular WSET1 and WSET2 classes being offered by the school as well.
For inquiries, people can get in touch with Ms. Rio Pamuspusan at rio.pamuspusan@enderuncolleges.com, +63917-6204610, or +632 858-5000 local 505.
Exciting times. We hope to see fellow winos there!
