I am all about a casual (but intelligent) approach to wines.
This is why I’m always excited to work with the lovely people of Planet Grapes because their restaurants are the living, breathing examples of that: With their #streetfoodmeetswine hashtag, each meal (or snack!) in the store is guaranteed to be a fun journey of discovering imaginative food by renowned chef Gus Sibayan and accessible wine pairings. Completely out of the box, but with so much sense and gastronomic delight.
An example of how unbounded by tradition they are is their upcoming promo which features a genre of wine that’s hardly talked about in the Manila circles: South Africa.
They will have a proper launch tomorrow, but the wonderful ladies of Planet Grapes, Ms. Jo Ramos and Ms. Kamille Ticzon, agreed to an impromptu video which presented their featured South African wine selection:
Again, it’s not a very well-known wine region in the Philippines, so I’m personally keen to explore it, and I promise an in-depth article asap. Cheers!
