When Size Matters

written by Gail Sotelo February 19, 2018

Ever wandered into a wine shop and tried to figure out what on earth terms pertaining to wine bottle sizes mean?

Ever wonder how large the bottles used for christening ships (or celebrating an F1 win) are?

Ever tried to win a prize in a wine trivia contest (I know, this is pushing it, but this is totally a true story)?

Our friends from Grafik Giraffe are here to help with another handy-dandy infographic:

Note that a standard bottle is 750ml, and each standard bottle ideally contains 6 glasses, therefore each glass should be about 125ml (how’s that for a little math?).

People in Manila can easily find (and marvel at) several bottle sizes in their nearest Wine Story branch, as seen here:

Is buying a magnum (and above) actually worth it? In most cases, we’ve found that it does come out to be cheaper (per glass), so the larger bottles tend to be perfect for massive parties… Then there’s the added bonus of making a huge (pun intended) impression on guests upon the arrival of a large bottle.

Because at the end of the day, size does matter. 😉 Cheers!
